We made it!
It was a gruelling run. No, they were gruelling runs. But, exhilarating no less. We finally completed the two runs we pledged to run in. First up was Run For Hope (RFH), an annual run organised by Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, Regent Singapore, and the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) to raise much-needed awareness and support for cancer research. The Kyoob-id team gathered at the Promontory @ Marina Bay on 17 November for our 10km run, which we completed. And less than a month later, the group of us gamely took on the Standard Chartered Marathon that took place on 1 December. Some of us ran 10km and a handful, full marathon. The Standard Chartered Marathon was one of few runs that allowed participants to soak in the iconic landmarks of Singapore namely Esplanade, Sentosa, and Orchard Road. It was a grand finale for the Kyoob-id team because we have trained, practised, and persevered till the runs’ completion. More than a physical work-out, the runs have showed us what we can do if we put our minds, hearts, and souls (of course, body too) into it. |
