The world is one big playground
This was the interior environment created for TripAdvisor®, the world authority on all travel matters. Situated at PricewatershouseCoopers building at Cross Street, the office was completed in about two months.
The office design features an eclectic mix of materials and textures, utilising light oak hues and bright accents to symbolise diverse travel experiences. TripAdvisor®’s branding pervades throughout. At the reception, a gigantic bird cage etched out from the flooring to tower above. TripAdvisor®’s owl brand mascot, Ollie, is emblazoned in veneer and cast in glass to create a peek-a-boo inside the meeting rooms located near the entrance. A reception table in vanilla stands with feathered layers, peeking lights beneath.
For the general area, workstations are installed with cranking devices to allow them to adjust the heights of the tables up to 1.1 metres, enabling different modes of working whether sitting down or standing up. The travel mood is exemplified here with directional signages as wayfinding along passageways and other travel accessories such as authentic telephone booths, lampposts, and chicken wires.
At the pantry, bar-height chairs and tables and blanket seating situate across each other. A world map collage that looks like the replica of a travel scrap book is emblazoned on the wall. The raw, industrialist vibes of the aluminium seating complement the torn page of a world map graphic whereas luscious verdant pottery ups the relaxed and carefree mood during staff breaks.
