Kyoob-id has recently renewed our Green Mark certified
rating for office interior with the Building Construction
Authority. For this renewal, we've made several improvements
to our office, making it even more sustainable. Eco-friendly
features that are added during an office refurbishment
exercise late last year include the usage of environmentally
friendly materials for furniture and finishing.
One such example is the usage of Singapore Green Label
certified materials - the Singapore Green Labelling Scheme
is an environmental standard and certification mark for
products that is administered by the Singapore Environment
Council. Singapore Green Label certified materials used
during the office refurbishment include vinyl flooring and
wood laminates for system and loose furniture, which are
mostly reused and recycled. In addition, the office
equipment and electrical appliances in the office are
energy-efficient with energy star ratings -- an accreditation
given by the US Environmental Protection Agency and US
Department of Energy.
In terms of aesthetics, the design language has stayed true
to its original palette with emphasis on an open and
facilitative culture. This leads to developing an open
spatial plan that is imprinted with low workstations and
streams of walking space. Our office located by the
drive-way at the first floor is parcelled in glass likening
to a fish tank, satisfying onlookers' curiosity while
letting in large swathes of warm light during the day.
Attributing to the light and airy ambience is our lofty and
exposed ceiling that is overhung with bowl-shaped pendant
lights, casting a soft glow onto the work area.
The colour palette is soothingly earthy and neutral with
pops of flaming red and olive yellow. A waiting area near
the reception is laden with character with laid-back
loungers and low snug seating; whereas a stroke of green
enlivens the breezy atmosphere further with pots and
planters throughout the space. |
